Wet plate collodion originals. By Davidjohn Lotto. These are unique, one-of-a-kind images, each it's own master. Each master plate was exposed in-camera and recorded the scenes portrayed below. Due to very special subtle depth inherent in the wet plate process - only some of the image characteristics can be portrayed here. Originals have a much greater 'dimensionality' to them as well as a number of other unique qualitites – and really must be seen to be believed. If you have experienced a collodion image for yourself first-hand, you will have some idea of what I'm talking about. It is our pleasure to present his work to you here.

The wet plate collodion positive originals above are unique, one-of-a-kind pieces.They are supplied mounted as an 'aluminotype' - mounted on an aluminum plate backing. This is part of what gives the wet collodion originals it's very special optical qualities. They are also available framed for $225 extra. Please choose the framed version from the drop-down menus above if you would like the piece sent that way. Framed works come signed on back by arist.
