J.W. Dewdney
Director
JW Dewdney was born in Ann Arbor, MI in 1965 then abducted and raised in Canada by a family of eccentrics who forced him to undertake multiple university degrees in visual art, architecture and physics. An only child, he is no stranger to megalomania and general desire to do things 'differently'. He was given ground-zero exposure to a vibrant North American art scene where he was given priveleged exposure. After being exiled from Canada for refusing to watch televised hockey, he found a home in Los Angeles after trying out New York for a few years (which he found "predictable"). He started the Gallery as an attempt to prove that 'there really can be something substantive' happening in L.A. beyond the purely pedestrian 'art market' outlets that already exist - as well as trying to burgeon something of a public dialogue pertaining to visual art.
